A  touch of romantic Italy and its famous traditional dishes became part of Greenways when the clubhouse restaurant was taken over in March by professional Venetian born and bred chef, Massimo Borella. He replaced Karlien Bekker who ran the restaurant for the past two years.

Good-looking, friendly Massimo (44) wasted no time in establishing a new character and pleasant atmosphere for the restaurant. In typical Italian fashion it was renamed “Via Verde” (Greenways). It had to be something Italian. He loves South Africa and is married to lovely English-speaking South African born, Debra, a travel agent.

Down to earth Massimo who believes in wholesome food made from fresh, quality ingredients, stylishly presented at an affordable price, can just about cook up anything. Your wish is his command.

He also plans to open a small deli with goodies such as cheeses and salami and home baked bread as well as having themed evenings such as pasta, pizza, bingo, etc. All events will be advertised at the restaurant and both entrance gates. He is currently in the process of compiling an e-mail address book to keep prospective patrons informed of any events and asks that all interested parties e-mail him on viaverdi@hotmail.co.za. He will gladly send you a copy of his menu per e-mail.

As he prefers cooking fresh food (not frozen) he requests that any special orders be placed 24 hours in advance. Massimo also envisages offering a  ready made meal service where families, singles or one parent families can order meals in advance and just collect on their way home from work. Functions, additional catering, etc., NO PROBLEM !!
